Clock Choke Fundamentals

The clock choke is a classic attack against the turtle position.

And it shares a lot of commonalities with other chokes attacking the back like the bow and arrow.

First of which is how folding the collar when setting the grip can improve the finish by turning the gi into a blade that slices under the chin. That’s true for the bow and arrow, and it’s also true for the clock choke.

Another area of similarities lies in the importance of controlling the far shoulder to stop them from turning towards the choking hand.

Beyond that, there are many variations on the choke.

In the video below though, you will learn a simple way to apply the choke.

Use it to your hearts content.
